Homemade Chocolate Bark

Chocolate Bark, it looks amazing and is so simple to make. Either for a quick treat or if you are looking for something fun and easy to make with your kids, you definitely need to try this out.

Everything about it is beautiful, melting the chocolate, feathering the chocolate and sprinkling the topping. The hardest bit is melting the chocolate and resisting eating it for 4 hours, while it cools in the fridge. It also makes a beautiful gift, just wrap n parchment and tie with some ribbon or string.

It takes about 15 minutes to make and then 4 hours to cool.

Homemade Chocolate Bark

Ingredients

  • 200g milk chocolate
  • A handful of your favourite mini chocolate bars (we used Celebrations), plus more if some ‘might’ get eaten during the preparation.
  • Plus about 6 blocks of dark or white chocolate to do the swirls.

Equipment

  • 2 glass bowls
  • A pan of boiling water
  • A baking tray lined with foil
  • A skewer to feather the chocolate swirls
  • Teaspoons for scraping the bowls clean of melted chocolate.

How to make it:

  • Line a baking tray with tin foil.
  • Then melt the milk chocolate in a glass bowl over a pan of simmering water. If you want you can put two pans on with both chocolates.
  • While the chocolate is melting chop up the chocolate bars.
  • Once the chocolate is melted, take off the heat and put the dark chocolate over the water.
  • Then pour milk chocolate onto the tin foil, as thin as you can. About 5mm thick works well.
  • When the dark chocolate is melted drizzle all over the milk chocolate in lines, then with the skewer draw lines across to create your desired effect.
  • Then randomly put the chocolates or sweets all over the chocolate.
  • Put in the fridge for about 2 hours to set.
  • Meanwhile scrape the bowls clean.
